Search for Anacortes Man missing for a week

http://www.komonews.com/news/local/81404742.html?tab=video

Dr. A.......we all love you

I'm a bit emotional this morning. Memories have been flooding me of my dear friend & old high school counselor, Dr. Anderson. The outpouring of love & support I know the Andersons have received only shows a fraction of how deeply this man is loved.
I've also received a few emails from friends who have shared their incredible stories of how he has impacted their lives.

I have pneumonia, and have been in bed all week so it feels good to be sitting up and writing this morning. Cierra was home the last two days with me, as she wasn't feeling all that well either. She took care of me, surprising me with what she called, "a berry get better platter" Blueberries, oranges & fresh squeezed orange juice. It did help me feel better for sure! However I don't want to imagine how she squeezed the oranges because she was dripping wet when she delivered the platter to me:)

Please please continue to pray for Dr. A's safe return.
Love,
Karla

A grassroots search party is being organized to look for popular retired Anacortes High School counselor Keith Anderson, who has been missing for a week. And, a candlelight vigil is planned for Wednesday night.

Brian Geer, the local Red Cross director, is organizing a search party to look for Anderson and his pickup truck. In a Facebook posting , Geer said, "The goal will be to drive the shoulders and check side roads, restaurant parking lots and park and rides." He's asking volunteers to meet at Penguin Coffee at 8:30 Saturday morning.

Other friends of Anderson are organizing a candlelight vigil for 6 pm Wednesday night (Jan. 13) at Causland Park.

Anderson left Anacortes on January 6 to meet an acquaintance in the Arlington area driving a white 1999 Ford Ranger pickup, Wash. license plate B0811F. The truck is described as a standard cab pickup with a matching white canopy.

The Anacortes Police Department has issued a statewide notice to be on the lookout for Anderson's truck. The missing person's report indicates Anderson has a history of medical problems, including high blood pressure and depression. He apparently left without medications.

Please pray & repost

My friend Johanna's father, Keith has been missing since last Wednesday. Keith was a huge part of my life as a teenager, welcoming me into his home whenever I missed that "last ferry." He & his whole family are very dear to me. Please pray for his safe return. We love you Keith.

2010-0111_missing_person.jpg (Updated Jan. 12, 2010) Popular retired Anacortes High School counselor Keith Anderson has been missing for nearly a week, and the Anacortes Police Department is asking for the public's help in locating him.

"Caring and compassionate" is how School Superintendent Chris Borgen characterized the 62-year-old Anderson, who retired from the school district.

The Police Department says Anderson has not been heard from since last Wednesday. According to a missing persons report, Anderson left Anacortes on January 6 to meet with an unidentified acquaintance in the Arlington area. The police said he has not returned home or contacted friends or family with his whereabouts.

He was driving a white 1999 Ford Ranger pickup, Washington license B0811F, described as a standard cab pickup with a matching white canopy. Police released his driver's license photo in the hope that someone would recognize him.

According the the police department, Anderson has a history of medical problems including depression and high blood pressure. He left his residence with only a small amount of cash, no clothes or other personal items. He may be depressed due to recent family problems.

The Anacortes Police Dept. asks that anyone who might have information to phone them at 360-293-4684.
