Tim McGraw & Lady Antebellum

Kenny & I went to see Tim McGraw & Lady Antebellum on Friday night @ the Key Arena. I haven't been there in a few years......and I forgot how much I love it there......I actually get scared lately at the Tacoma Dome........mechanical fear.......everytime I'm there I swear the bleachers are all going to come crashing down!
Kenny is the country lover in our family. I'm more of the alternative rock. But I really must say that Tim McGraw has helped me appreciate country a bit more than I think I ever would have:)

Feeling OH so GOOD!

I don't know what happened overnight, but I woke up this morning a different person. I have so much energy I don't know what to do with it all! I felt great at the gym...the elliptical is my friend now. When I started back a few weeks ago, I had to use my rescue steroids/inhalers after 15 minutes....but I'm up to 35 minutes on level 5.....and I feel like I could go longer:) Pneumonia really did a number on my lungs this time around. It will be nice to be fully healthy again, able to breathe.
Cierra is in her last day of testing, so tonight we'll have to do something a little special for her. Maybe a pizza party or sundaes or a new book or two:) She has taken this so seriously, maybe a bit too much so. But I am proud of her, she really has worked hard at getting enough sleep and eating a big breakfast.
Planning a bachelorette party for my best girl has been a blast! I love having an excuse to go to the erotic bakery. Yes siree....I mean really, how fun is it? I won't go into detail about what we're doing because I know you are reading this JoD. But lets just say we are gonna have fun fun fun!! It's gonna be like the movie Hangover! our wolf pack it gonna get real big!
American Idol has been such a disappointed to others it seems.....but not to me! I love it! Only 3 more months until the concert!! Speaking of concerts....I'm feeling a bit anxious about them this summer. There are so many people to see and not enough time. So far the tickets I have in my pocket are:
Lilith Fair 7-3 (going to the Gorge with JoDee Sue.....just may have to do Ridgefield the night before too)
Adam Lambert 7-20(showbox! I love it there....just may be my 2nd favorite place!)
American Idol with the munchkin (Aug 20) very excited they will be at Key Arena....places to eat and play before!
Dave (labor day weekend!) I'm so sad that they will not be touring in 2011, so thank goodness we are going all three nights!
*still a maybe on Kings of Leon! my birthday weekend and we don't have the tickets yet....but someone knows they need to get on that!*
Okay, I need to eat then edit some photographs from last week! Think I'll watch last night's Lost while I get caught up!
Oh yeah, Kenny and I are starting a new business. Haven't decided on the name yet, but it will be a photo business. I'll explain more later!

The Tulip Dance won!!

On Monday I received an email from the managing editor for the Skagit Valley Herald, and he told me that I was a finalist in the Tulip Photo Contest. I was so thrilled, but didn't want to get my hopes up...knowing that there was still some judging to go through.
I am so proud and happy to say that "The Tulip Dance" won! You don't know how much this means to me.

When I first became a photographer at age 19, I could count on my hand the photographers I knew. Now everywhere I turn....... everyone I know is one. It is a tough tough business to be in, hard to find your little place in this very creative world. I LOVE my little place, my very rewarding place. So to have the support I have, and the people that have encouraged me through all these years....it just feels amazing.

I know some of you voted every day, and were very excited about his process for me...and so THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart!

Ohhhhhh 30 Seconds to Mars was so awesome! Jared Leto is an amazing performer....boy can he sing great LIVE! I love the pink mohawk he's sportin' too! I took Kenny to watch them at the Showbox on Monday night....and it was a wonderful date! Neon Trees & Mute Math also played!

Maple Valley Days!!!

Yipee Skipee!! I was so excited yesterday when I got a very special letter in the mail......an acceptance letter for Karla DeCamp Photography to have a booth at this year's Maple Valley Days! I really was so nervous to find out if I could participate this year, so it was a huge relief to get the good news. We are celebrating tonight with Kenny's famous crab & shrimp feast! Yum Yum Yum!
June 11-13th @ Lake Wilderness in Maple Valley!!! This is where I will be!
Now the fun begins.......in the next week I will be ordering a few hundred photo cards & framing 40 or so large prints.....matting another 100 or so!!!
I love talking with people, so this is right up my alley:) I just am so excited I can hardly contain myself!!
